Finding a WiFi Hotspot

Finding a Hotspot

By now, locating the hotspot would be one of toughest thing to do, especially if you are not familiar to Singapore. For one, you should remember that Changi Airport Terminals have the free Wireless@SG hotspots, big shopping malls, and places like MacDonalds, Burger Kings, Starbucks are also part of it.

On your mobile phone
  • A pretty simple to use service provided by SingTel, that tells you the nearest hotspots around you by means of LBS (location-based services). Use your mobile phone to choose manual network selection, and dial *624. This is a FREE service that sends an SMS to you at no charge, telling you where the nearest SingTel hotspots are located.
  • Another way of doing it on-the-fly, is to bookmark my site =] and look up the links below over WAP/GPRS
  • Kampung Glam / Beach Rd / North Bridge Rd Zone Plaza Singapura - Orchard Rd / Dhoby Ghaut Joo Chiat / Katong Zone Siglap / East Coast Rd Zone Changi Village White Sands - Pasir Ris Pasir Ris Zone, check out http://www.icellwireless.net/locations.php
  • For other locations, go to http://home.singtel.com/upload_hub/consumer/wsz.htm.
  • I did not include Qmax as the site locator in their homepage doesn't give any good information at all.

Over internet/broadband connection
